While on a trip around Northern California in May 2014, we stopped at a San Joaquin Valley produce stand near Merced. Here is one of the delightful country displays there - all sorts of onions on a wooden cart with wagon wheels and a couple of atmospheric signs. "Work Hard and Be" is my favorite and there is also a "Recipe For Love". San Joaquin Valley is known for its abundant produce.
