WHAT: An imagined view of Table Mountain near Oroville, California
WHEN: Spring 2016
WHERE: Oroville, California
WHY: I wanted to try an imaginary landscape based on views I had seen of Table Mountain near Oroville. I did it in colored pencil on blue colored paper starting at the center with a view through a notch in the buttes. I implied the layers of the buttes with trees growing along the edges of the strata. Though still spring, the grasses are starting to go golden as the spring rains dry up. A seasonal stream is marked by the green foliage. The clouds are a combination of cumulus and cirrus formations.
