Description
This is a doorway of the Mission San Francisco Solano in the Sonoma State Historic Park in Sonoma, California. I liked the angles and shadows that created an abstract of sorts. Established in 1823, the mission was the twenty-first mission and the only one built under Mexican rule. It is the last one to be built in the former Alta California. The building was sold in 1881 and eventually became part of the state park. Five rooms of the original adobe brick mission remain, including a chapel built around 1840 to replace the original mission church.
