When visiting Los Angeles in 2014, we went into the old mission church, The Church of Our Lady Queen of the Angels, La Iglesia de Nuestra Senora de Reina de Los Angeles, near Olvera Street, dated around 1861. This chapel replaced previous mission churches, the first in 1784. It is nicknamed La Placita or Plaza Church because it is off the old town plaza. This beautiful old gilt altarpiece is inside. The monstrance is visible, as the church was having an exposition of the Blessed Sacrament.
